Dr. Henderson received her M.D. from Oregon Health Sciences University in 2003, and completed a family medicine residency at Lawrence General Hospital in Massachusetts in 2006. She received a B.S. with honors from Calvin College in 1998, with a major in Biology, and a minor in third-world development. She took a year off of medical school to live in India at the age of 25, living in remote villages and urban slums, learning medicine from gurus and acclaimed medical doctors from Vellore Medical College.

In 2009, she was selected as the doctor to represent Oregon from Doctors for America, and met with with Dr. Obama and other physicians to discuss health care reform. She is a life-long learner, immersing herself in education of the mind-body connection via reading, travel, and workshops.  Between 2014 and 2016 she took six workshops at Eslaen, studying with Byron Katie, Cheryl Strayed (author of Wild), Alanis Morrisette, and Rupert Spira (Science and Non-Duality). She has is certified in Esalen Massage.

Outside of India, her public health travels have taken her to Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Honduras, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Mexico. For fun, she’s traveled to Paris, Italy, Switzerland, Thailand, and Germany.
